Car Trouble

Well, my car broke last Sunday and I've been at home with kids for 5 whole days. I am back at work today. When I dropped them off with their nanny this morning, it was like ssshhhh... peace and quiet. Although they were good for the most part they are noisy.

Now, I'm ready to go home and play with them... crazy huh?

Got my car back and its not making the noise it was making before... the guy said that's when I should have brought the car in... but what woman thinks that? My car is just glad it gets gas.

Its been so long...

since I posted anything. I still come to read others blogs, but haven't really felt like I had much to say. Its raining terribly outside today, a tropical storm came ashore in Corpus Christi and we are getting the rain bands. Its pitch black outside with lots of rumbling. This is the perfect stay at home day, but of course I am at the office.

The kids will be with their father this weekend. I am looking forward to a quiet weekend. I've been under the weather all this week. I think I'll catch up on some movies.

I must go to the grocery store. we are out of everything. That is a struggle for me, the grocery store. I never seem to get enough, seems like we are always out. Is it possible to get everything at the grocery store for two weeks and not run out, especially with 3 boys? I make lists and even buy things not on the list, but snacks and juice boxes never last more than a couple of days.

Work is good, I am supposed to get my review and raise(!) in the next two weeks. I've been with this company for a little over a year. Things are changing quickly and I am excited about those changes.

Have I mentioned that I am going to Mexico for lap band surgery in December? I still have to finalize the down payment and get the actual date for surgery. I'm so excited. I am constantly reading blogs and messages boards about the lap band surgery. I have at least 50 pounds to lose. I am hoping this is a tool that will help me accomplish that goal. If you have the lap band, will you send me a note? I don't actually know anyone in person who has had it - is it really for real?

Well, I better get back to work.

Tata for now!

It's Over

Well I just got back from the interview and thank goodness its over. I hate interviewing. He asked some really tough questions, he's the type that wants you to know everything about the company you work for... I'm in accounting, I don't care if we sell widgets as long as we make a profit.

He didn't have any hestiations about my abilities in the job but did say that the person I would be reporting to would have a problem with the short amount of time I 've been at my current job. My recruiter said he could work with that. So I'd love to hear something today on any feedback.

So I'll keep you posted.

Interview is tomorrow

Ok, its official. My interview with this new company is at 11:30 tomorrow. The trick is trying to find something appropriate to wear for an interview with looking like I'm going to an interview. While I'm excited I'm also nervous. I hate interviews. They always seem so fake and my recruiter keeps calling with possible questions they may ask and questions I should ask. Ugh.

Interview

Well its been nearly a week since my last posting. A lot happened over the weekend. My oldest son developed a staph infection on what we thought was a bug bite. He could barely walk for about 2 days. I've just gotten word that I'll have an interview set up with another oil and gas company this week. I'm so wishy washy about the whole thing. Let me explain: I was first hired here in June of last year, in July a manager was hired to cover our little 4 person group. Well she turned out to be worthless and I'm being nice by saying that. Anyway since then the other 3 people in my group have found better jobs. My problem is I just got settled in this position, with kids I've pretty much set my hours so that I'm only working late a couple of nights out of the month. Little stuff like that. But I've decided to go on the interview anyway. Wish me luck.

Baseball in Texas

Both boys Stephen and Nicholas, or Nicky as I call him, play baseball for our area baseball league. This year they are both on really good teams, which helps their self esteem, especially Stephen's. Since they both played at the same time, I watch Stephen's game since their father was helping coach Nicky's game. Stephen is on the Marlins and their uniforms look so nice. Stephen is tall and skinny but he looks so cute in his baseball uniform. Stephen hit a homerun and a double play catching the fly ball and getting the out at first base. I'm learning all this baseball stuff as we go. Anyway, they won and are still undefeated. Nicky's is a Rockie and their uniforms are really nice too. I didn't get all his statistics but I know they won and are also undefeated.

I love being a baseball Mom.

My Very First Post

I'm sitting here trying to think of something special to write as my very first post, but of course nothing comes to mind. So I guess I will tell you about me. My name is Merika, and I am a 34 year old single (not my decision) mother of four wonderful but very energentic children. They are Kelli, age 10 (going on 20). She is my only daughter and reminds me of myself way too much. Stephen, age 8 who is my emotional child. As the oldest son, but number two child, he is always in competition with his sister and of course nothing "is fair." Nicholas, age 6 is my wild child. He behaves wonderfully at school, but at home, he is getting into everything and on everybody (siblings) nerves. Ryan, age 4 is still my baby. I'm sorry but he will be the baby forever. Aren't we supposed to treat the baby of the family that way? Ok so he sucks on his finger! He will grow out of it.

So this is my family! Welcome to my world!
